Upgrading

For years we here at Automatic Duck have been manually processing upgrade orders. While this has been fun and we have many great memories, the time has come. We need a better system.

We hope this helps you get your upgraded software more quickly and easily, please let us know how it works for you.

Register

• First you register an account on our registration server at http://my.automaticduck.com
  • This new interface allows you to see all of your activated licenses that are connected to your email address and provides a kind of portal for resetting serial numbers and upgrading your licenses.
  • Can't find your license under your email address? Contact us with
    1. your serial number
    2. the email address you think it might be registered under
    3. and what email address you would prefer to register it with.
• Now that you're registered and can access your licenses in the registration server you can proceed to upgrade.

Get Upgrade Code

• Click the Upgrade link to the right of your serial number.
  • Don't have an upgrade link? Maybe you've already upgraded that license in the past? Or it could be that your license for that product is current and no upgrade is available. If you have questions, contact us.
• Confirm that you want to upgrade, since this will "kill" the serial number you are upgrading from.
• The server presents you with a unique Upgrade Code that you will use at our online store to get your new plug-in at upgrade pricing.
  • The Upgrade Code can only be used once and is only valid for the product you are upgrading to. For example if you are upgrading to Pro Import AE 4.0 you can only use the Upgrade Code with a purchase for Pro Import AE 4.0 (Mac or Windows, doesn't matter), you cannot use the Upgrade Code with Pro Export FCP or Pro Import FCP.
• The Upgrade Code and purchase URL are also emailed to you.

Order Upgrade

• Follow the link to the Automatic Duck online store and add your new product to your cart.
  • Don't worry that the price is $495, when you enter your Upgrade Code on the next checkout page the plug-in price will be reduced.
• Your Upgrade Code will be entered on the second checkout page, not in in the Coupon Code field but in the Upgrade Code field. This will reduce the price of your new plug-in to the upgrade price!
  • If you are eligible for a free upgrade your coupon code will reduce your plug-in price by $495 making it free (CD shipping, which is not required, is extra). You do not need to do anything, the server knows to give $-495 Upgrade Codes to all Pro Export FCP serial numbers sold on or after April 2 2008.
• Complete your order and within a few minutes you should receive an email with your new serial number and download link!
